PowerPay Founder and CEO Mike Petrakis Wins EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Greater Philadelphia Award

WAYNE, Pa. — June 12, 2026 — Mike Petrakis, Founder and CEO of PowerPay, has won the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 Greater Philadelphia Award, recognizing leaders who are building and scaling companies that drive economic growth and long-term value.

Now in its 41st year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year® program honors founders and executives who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and sustained business performance. Winners were selected by an independent panel of judges based on their ability to create lasting impact within their organizations and communities.

Petrakis founded PowerPay in 2018 with a focus on addressing a gap in consumer financing for essential home improvement and healthcare investments. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a digital-first lending platform that enables consumers to access financing at the point of sale through a seamless, transparent experience.

“We built PowerPay to solve a problem that traditional lenders were not equipped to handle,” said Petrakis. “Consumers need access to financing for projects that directly impact their homes and lives, and providers need a way to offer those solutions in real time. This recognition reflects the work of a team that has stayed focused on building that system the right way.”

Today, PowerPay supports a network of more than 15,000 contractors and healthcare providers nationwide. Its proprietary, AI-driven underwriting platform delivers instant credit decisions while maintaining a consumer-first model designed to eliminate hidden fees and reduce long-term cost burdens for borrowers.

The recognition comes during a period of continued growth for the company, which has expanded its lending platform across multiple verticals while maintaining a focus on responsible financing and operational scalability. PowerPay’s model integrates technology, capital, and human support to create consistent outcomes for both consumers and partners.

Regional award winners were announced on June 11. As a regional award winner, Petrakis will advance to consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® National Awards later this year.
